ForeVR is a gaming company dedicated to bringing VR to the masses.

Founded and run by Marcus Segal and Michael Pagano Doom, the company creates category-defining games with social play that entertain people of all ages. Launched in 2020 during one of the strangest times in human history, ForeVR understands that VR’s time is now. The accessibility of VR technology, the need for socially distant entertainment options and nostalgia for popular in person games set the stage for success. As well as the fact that 42.9 million people in the US will use VR at least once a month this year and gaming and entertainment media hold 40.5% of the VR market share (Statista).

The ForeVR team includes gaming veterans, imagineers, and a death metal guitarist. This collective are also early pioneers of social gaming, VR-AR immersives and AAA branded toys. Together they have one goal --Translate the most popular and classic IRL games into immersive virtual reality experiences where friends and families of all ages can connect and have fun.

ForeVR’s games are developed from the ground-up for platforms that offer social connection between players and a next-level sense of presence only possible in VR. The company’s first gaming experience, ForeVR Bowl launched in May 2021 with its second, ForeVR Darts launching December 2021.

Marcus Segal is CEO and co-founder of ForeVR, a game developer bringing the most popular IRL games to Virtual Reality. Segal co-founded the company with Michael Pagano Doom to translate the most popular real life games into compelling multiplayer social experiences in VR. As consumer accessibility to VR technology becomes a reality for more and more consumers, ForeVR is uniquely positioned to offer a new and unique interactive entertainment experience. Segal’s job as CEO is to build and grow ForeVR into a premiere VR global game developer.

Segal’s worlds as a tech strategist, investor and producer are converging with the launch of ForeVR. At global interactive entertainment company Zynga, Segal helped pioneer social gaming as SVP of Global Operations and COO of Worldwide Game Studios and was part of the team that made the company one of the fastest-growing companies ever to hit $1B in revenue. Segal co-founded and served as the COO for Vindicia Inc., a technology company focused on providing advanced payment solutions for digital merchants (the company was sold to Amdocs in 2018). Segal served as COO of eMusic.com [Nasdaq: EMUS], where he championed music’s shift to digital and led the organization through their acquisition by Universal Music Group in 2003. Pre-tech world, Segal worked in the TV and film biz as an executive producer for The Documedia Group, where he produced the Emmy-nominated series Sworn to Secrecy for The History Channel, and as a pyro-technician on one of the world's true film classics, Beastmaster 3.

Segal splits his time between San Francisco and Los Angeles, is a partner at Upshift Capital, serves on the board of G5 Entertainment [GENTF] and mentors start-ups through YCombinator, Google Launchpad, and Nomadic Mentors.

Mike Doom
Co-Founder

Mike Doom serves as Co-Founder for ForeVR, a game developer creating VR experiences for the new socially-distant world order. Doom and co-founder Marcus Segal started ForeVR to bring the world’s most popular (and highly social) in-person games to VR. Doom oversees product development and platform partnerships, as well as day-to-day company operations for ForeVR.

Doom was destined for a life in gaming after coding his first game on his 286 when he was a kid. Before launching ForeVR with Segal, he founded and ran Pagano World, a consulting company that offered clients production and game direction insights on games such as John Wick Hex and Blair Witch. He was a pioneer in mobile-first gaming as the founder and CEO of indie studios Built Games, creating games for partners such as Viacom and Turner Broadcasting. Before his career as a serial gaming entrepreneur, Doom was GM of the New Casino Group at Zynga, leading a creative mobile-social team focused on strategic growth initiatives for the Casino division, including the lauded Duck Dynasty Slots which was created and launched in under three months. At Electronic Arts, Doom founded EA’s first free-to-play studio and led production of the award-winning SimCity Social Facebook game. He also worked on some of the earliest and widely played games out of Walt Disney Internet Group and Warner Bros. Online.

With more than 16 years in the gaming industry, Doom has developed 3 patents for a number of gaming environments, won numerous gaming industry awards—including two Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Game of the Year - and is a sought-after speaker on interactive entertainment.
